A professonal grade lighting system has the following components:

Transformers

The transformer in a low voltage lighting system converts the standard 120-volt current (voltage used to power most appliances in your house) to a safer 12-volt current.

Transformers are made out of high quality stainless steel so they can be mounted either inside or outside. All of our transformers are UL 1838 approved for landscape lighting. All of our transformers also carry a lifetime warranty.

Fixtures

Low voltage fixtures have come a long way in the last 10 years. Fixtures now are made out of high quality cast aluminum, brass, or copper. Fixtures can now be very decorative or low key, based on the customer's taste. They also are available in a wide variety of colors that make them easy to hide in any landscape.

We use only fixtures manufactured by Kichler, Vista, and Rockscapes. These three manufacturers have the widest selection of high quality landscape lighting products.

Wire

We use only the highest quality 10, 12, and 18 gauge wire available. Proper wire sizing is the most important part of a landscape lighting system. Improper wiring can cause ineffective lighting, decrease bulb life, and can even cause a fire.

We do not use any equipment to bury wire. Therefore, we do not disturb any of the landscape or yard.

Lamps

Most lamps used today are halogen. When wired correctly, halogen lamps give off a whiter and softer light using less wattage. The watts used in the fixtures vary based on the effect you are trying to establish. These bulbs have an average life of 2500 hours, which is a little over a year with the lights being on an average of 6 hours a night. However, we recommend that bulbs be replaced each year.

* Price is based upon the fixtures the customer chooses and the size of the job.
